Today officially marked the beginning of our adventure. After living full-time in our RV and only staying within Florida this entire time, everything is finally changing. Now that Krysta has landed a remote job, we’re hitting the road with one huge goal in mind — visiting every state in the United States. And with Above & Beyond’s Above & Beyond Group Therapy 700 waiting for us in September at The Gorge Amphitheater, we’re calling this journey: The Road to ABGT 700.

Today was day one.

The morning definitely tested us a little. Between stomach aches (probably nerves), brutal heat pushing over 100 degrees, and trying to make sure everything in the RV was packed and secured in the right place for travel day, it felt a little chaotic at first. On top of that, Krysta tried once again to get the built-in TPMS tire sensors connected — something we’ve been fighting with since we bought the RV. No luck. We eventually gave up and hit the road anyway.

But somewhere along the drive, Krysta kept researching and actually discovered that the sensors may need the tires deflated and reinflated to fully reset. So now we have a new plan to try at our stop this week. Small RV victories count big out here.

Once we got rolling, though, the day smoothed out beautifully. Sure, there were a few asshole drivers along the way, but overall it was a really good first ABGT 700 travel day. The girls slept almost the entire drive, traffic cooperated for the most part, and we made it to our destination with great timing.

Tonight we’re settling into Three Flags RV Campground in Wildwood for the week. We honestly didn’t expect so many people to be here, but the campground is packed. Thankfully, most and including our campsites are pull-throughs, which made setup so much easier, and we got everything parked and settled pretty quickly.

Now we’re finally relaxing for the night, sitting in our little home on wheels, soaking in the fact that this journey has officially begun. One mile closer to every state. One mile closer to ABGT 700.
