Welcome back to another week here at Solitude State of Mind!
ABGT 700 may officially be behind us, but there wasn't much time to recover before our next adventure began.
Well... we were supposed to recover.
Mother Natureβand apparently our immune systemsβhad other plans.
Monday morning started with our houseguests heading out early, but we weren't quite ready to say goodbye to our Anjuna family yet.
One of the heads of our Anjuna Florida Fam, Marjie, was staying at an Airbnb right across the street from us for one more day. She reached out and said that she and some of her Airbnb crew were going to grab tacos.
Tacos?
You already know Krysta wasn't turning that invitation down.
We met up with Marjie, Alfonso, and Charlie for tacos and enjoyed one last afternoon together. Afterward, everyone came back to the RV, where we brought the music back out, listened to some Anjuna and South Jettystock, and just relaxed.
After the absolute craziness of ABGT 700 weekend, it was exactly the kind of Monday we needed.
Good friends.
Good music.
And, most importantly, tacos.
It was the perfect ending to an incredible weekend with our Anjuna family.
Then Tuesday morning arrived...
And brought us a lovely little parting gift.
SICKNESS.
Apparently, spending Saturday soaking wet and freezing in the Washington rain wasn't the greatest thing we could have done for ourselves because both William and Krysta ended up with strep throat.
Tuesday was supposed to be travel day.
That definitely wasn't happening.
William could barely get out of bed, so thankfully the campground was able to extend our stay another night.
Wednesday came around, and we still weren't feeling 100%.
Once again, they graciously extended our stay and even told us we could remain through the end of the week if we needed to.
As tempting as that sounded, we knew we couldn't stay much longer.
We had A LOT of miles between us and our next destination.
And unlike most of our travels so far, Krysta couldn't just spend the drive sitting back and enjoying the scenery.
She had to work.
So Wednesday, William tackled one more project before we hit the road.
He built Krysta a desk for the back seat of the truck.
Because apparently when your house is traveling down the interstate, your office can too!
Thursday morning, we finally felt well enough to pack everything up and hit the road.
And the new mobile office?
It worked beautifully!
Krysta was able to work from the back of the truck while William drove, allowing us to start knocking out some serious miles without Krysta having to take time away from work.
Our first travel day took us roughly 320 miles to Missoula, Montana.
Once we arrived, we only partially unpacked because we knew everything would be getting packed right back up the following morning.
But then William remembered something.
We had friends in Missoula!
He reached out to Ken and Ally and found out they were heading to trivia that night.
So apparently our quiet evening turned into trivia and drinks.
And honestly, we're glad it did.
One of our favorite parts of this entire journey has been never knowing who we're going to meetβor reconnect withβalong the way.
Sometimes we pull into a campground and meet complete strangers who become friends.
Other times, we realize we're passing through the hometown of someone we haven't seen in a while and suddenly we're sitting together having drinks and playing trivia.
That's one of the things that has made traveling the country so much more meaningful for us.
Friday morning...
You guessed it.
TRAVEL DAY AGAIN.
We packed everything back up and continued across Montana, traveling from Missoula to Laurel.
And we really only have one word to describe that drive:
WOW.
Montana absolutely DID NOT disappoint.
Around seemingly every turn was another incredible view. Mountains, wide-open landscapes, and scenery that reminded us exactly why we decided to take on this crazy journey in the first place.
Pictures simply don't do Montana justice.
That evening, we decided to keep things simple and pulled into a Love's Travel Stop for the night.
But this wasn't just any overnight truck stop.
They had RV sites with FULL HOOKUPS!
At this point in our travels, you know how excited we get when we see the words "full hookups."
And there was an Arby's.
Dinner = solved.
We hooked up, grabbed some food, got some rest, and prepared ourselves because Saturday was going to be a BIG one.
And when we say big...
We mean REALLY BIG.
Saturday morning, we hit the road again.
This time, we had 640 MILES ahead of us.
Yes.
MILES.
Our longest travel day EVER.
Thankfully, our pack of Oscar Mayer wieners were absolute champions. Ivy, Fern, and Marble handled the long day like pros while Krysta continued working from her new mobile office and William kept putting miles behind us.
And eventually...
WE MADE IT.
After months of traveling from Florida toward The Gorge, experiencing ABGT 700, and then turning the truck toward our next completely different adventure...
We officially arrived in NORTH DAKOTA!
And this isn't just another one-week campground stop.
North Dakota will be home for a little over a MONTH.
Why?
THE SUGAR BEET HARVEST!
William is about to trade DJ decks and RV projects for something completely different as we get ready to experience one of the most unique adventures of our entire trip.
We honestly don't know exactly what the next month is going to look like.
And that's part of what makes this so exciting.
We've gone from dancing in the pouring rain at The Gorge with our Anjuna family to preparing for the Sugar Beet Harvest in North Dakotaβall within a matter of days.
Talk about a change of scenery!
Our Road to ABGT 700 may be complete...
But our journey to every state in America is just getting started.
North Dakota, we're here.
Let's see what you've got.
Make sure you report back next week because we'll be coming to you LIVE from the 2026 Sugar Beet Harvest here in North Dakota!
By then, William should finally know which job he'll be taking on for harvest season. Will he be behind the controls of a skid steer, or will he be out in the action as a sample taker?
We're about to find out!
And that's not the only thing coming next week...
We've been working on a little something behind the scenes for Solitude State of Mind. π
Let's just say you might finally be able to wear a little piece of our adventure yourself.
Solitude State of Mind swag is coming... and you'll get your first look NEXT WEEK! ππ
New state. New adventure. New job. New swag.
The next chapter starts now.
See you next week, LIVE from the 2026 Sugar Beet Harvest in North Dakota! πβ€οΈπ±
